1. Construction of Recycling Depots for the Sierra Viva Program

Objectives
To promote solid waste management practices, through the Sierra Viva program and the creation of recycling depots, in order to ensure the conservation of ancestral land of indigenous and farming communities.
Activities
Socialization of the project with the communities involved.
Preparation of the construction sites.
Purchase and transportation of construction materials.
Construction of 7 depots.
Results
The depots have facilitated the storage, recycling and transportation of waste, contributing to the success and sustainability of the project.
The communities which have participated in the project have improved their health and their quality of life, and are contributing significantly to the conservation of this unique habitat.

2. Materials and Equipment for the Early Childhood Development Center Fundamor Mandivá

Objectives
Provide the Early Childhood Development Center with educational materials and kitchenware, promoting the comprehensive development of preschool children living in rural communities.
Activities
Purchase of educational materials for the classrooms.
Purchase of kitchen equipment for the cafeteria of the Center.
Results
Increase educational opportunities for early childhood, which 6,340 children from rural communities do not have access to.
Children have the materials (books, games, audio-visual aids) and the furniture needed to enjoy a quality educational process.
The community has a fully equipped kitchen and dining hall, providing children with a diet in accordance with their nutritional requirements.

3. Improvement of the Infrastructure and Educational Resources for Early Childhood Care

Objectives
Enhance the quality of comprehensive early childhood care through the improvement of infrastructure and provision of the preschools and early childhood development centers in the Department of Bolívar.
Activities
Improvement of walls,patching and painting.
Staffing (purchase and installation of equipment).
Results
Created educational spaces suitable for children.
Improved 74 classrooms, 4 more than the ones previously selected.
Equipped 78 classrooms (8 more that the ones previously selected) with educational and recreational materials.

4. Construction of Gardens in "My First Steps" Early Childhood Development Centers

Objectives
Train the educational community in the construction and management of gardens, in order to promote changes in eating habits, with particular emphasis on child nutrition.
Use the garden as a pedagogical tool to work with children around their relationship with the land, food and life cycles.
Activities
Trainings for families and teachers in the construction and maintenance of gardens.
Construction of gardens to plant vegetables, aromatic and medicinal plants, in 21 early childhood development centers.
Workshops on healthy eating habits in the family, and the consumption of local produce.
Resultados
Creation of 21 gardens with replicas in additional centers, for a total of 27 gardens.
Preparation of practical guidelines for the development of various topics associated with the gardening.
Inclusion of the gardens in the pedagogical model of “My First Steps” of the Genesis Foundation.
Inceased awareness and motivation of teachers and students to work in the garden, produce compost, and build ecological blocks.
