Objectives

  • Extend the coverage of contraceptive methods, reaching a 40% use by community members.

  • Migrate existing users to methods with a 5 year protection period.

 

Activities

  • Ensure the continuous supply of contraceptives.

  • Creation of a legal strategy to demand sexual and reproductive health services from public health institutions.

  • Increase in coverage of the program.

Results

  • 3 informative workshops were carried out in Pueblo Viejo, La Isla and Tasajera. 

  • An agreement was signed with the local administration to ensure continuous supplies of contraceptive methods. 

  • 2 brigades for the insertion of the subdermal implant contraceptive in Pueblo Viejo and 1 brigade at the health center of Profamilia in Santa Marta. 

  • 1 female sterilization brigade that benefited 24 women.

2. Expansion of the Center for the Integral Attention of the Family in Santander

Objectives

  • Improve the living conditions of displaced people and their families, providing them access to the activities carried out by Fundación Estructurar, with an emphasis in the care and development of early childhood.

 

Activities

  • Construction of 1,565 square meters of infrastructure for the Center for Integral Attention to the Family. 

  • Implementation of early childhood development and education. 

  • Implementation of the school for parents. 

  • Implementation of the youth training program.

  • Implementation of the labor training program. 

  • Implementation of the income generation program.

  • Implementation of the food security program.

Results 

  • Increase in the coverage of the program, providing services to 144 boys and girls between the ages of 2 to 5.

  • Construction of 5 classrooms and bathrooms with a capacity for 300 boys and girls.

  • Delivery of furniture and teaching materials for the classrooms.

  • Agreement with the Mayor of Piedecuesta and the Colombian Petroleum Institute to build the third phase of the Center, which consists of 4 new classrooms, access and goal, community room and board for second floor.

  • Approved grant by the Rotary Club International to provide the classrooms with a doll house, educational material and a room of psychomotricity development.

  • Provide education through the co-financing of capacity-building workshops and trainings in entrepreneurship and employment.

  • Strengthen associativity and social development, facilitating access to the contents and technical assistance for the creation of productive chains, environmental awareness and human development.

Activities

  • Courses in design and construction of water reservoirs and seedbeds. 

  • Cooking classes.  

  • Courses in the production of organic proteins, minor species and nutrient recycling. 

  • Creation of business plans and development of skills for project assessments. 

  • Tour of the ecovillage "Nashira,"  a successful experience in Biodynamic Agriculture.

  • Course in environmental protection for children.
