1. Expansion of the Early Childhood Development Center "El Caracolí"

Objectives

  • Expand the infrastructure of "El Caracolí" in order to increase the coverage of beneficiaries, in the commune 4 of the municipality of Yumbo, Valle.

Activities

  • Construction of 4 classrooms and bathrooms for children. 

  • Installation of water and electrical networks.

  • Construction of walking trails that connect the classrooms.  

Results

  • This project enabled the Center to provide services to 63 additional preschool children, increasing its impact and improving the quality of life of this vulnerable population.

2. Kitchenware for “My First Steps” Program

Objectives

  • Strengthen the Early Childhood Development Program "My First Steps" through the purchase of kitchen items and materials for the Early Childhood Development Centers where the program operates.

 

Activities

  • Purchase and delivery of kitchenware and other educational materials.

Results 

  • 23 kitchens in Tumaco and Magdalena were furnished with the necessary equipment to provide lunches to children from low-income families.

3. Baking Opportunities for Life

Objectives

  • Provide the equipment necesary to increase the production of Fundación Semilla y Fruto’s bakery, which provides foodstuff for the organization’s lunch program and generates income for both the organization and the parents of the children attending Semilla y Fruto.   

Activities

  • Imrpovement of the bakery.

  • Purchase of a baking dough mixing machine and a bakery proofer.

  • Development and implementation of the bakery business plan.

  • Trainings in bakery for beneficiary families.

Results

  • The program trained parents of children beneficiaries of the organization, 8 of them were employed in the bakery.

  • There was an increase in the productivity of the bakery corresponding to an additional 3,900 units monthly.

  • Additionally, the baked goods were used in the lunch program of the organization, providing a nutritional boost to the children's diets.

4. Improving the obsteric and pediatric services of the Hospital Pedro León Alvarez Díaz

Objectives

  • To comply with the standard health accreditation for gynecological, obstetrical and child care, through the provision of adequate healthcare furniture which offers safety and comfort to the patient.

 

Activities

  • Purchase of hospital furniture (electric beds, bedside tables, trays for the meals, etc.)

Resultados

  •  Improvement in the quality of service offered to mothers and children in the hospital, ensuring a more comfortable and pleasant recovery.
